Michael is an ARIA award-winning musician. He is a writer, singer, guitarist, musical director & music educator. Michael has conducted workshops for teachers of The Learning Space Foundation & taught English through songs to tribal children in Maharashtra, India. He was the musical director of the prestigious Ethnic Business Awards in 2007 that was broadcast to 45 countries worldwide.


Michael teaches music at schools & runs a music program at the Namatjira Healing Centre for Indigenous men.


His latest record is a unique Australian family friendly album released by Spikey & Friends, In My Backyard.


Spikey & Friends are a uniquely Australian alternative K-indie Rock band, educational & fun for the whole family. Songs include many important themes about native Australian animals, Indigenous values about nature as well as biologies and habits of dolphins, bush turkeys, echidnas, turtles & even cane toads.



Spikey & Friends utilise music as a vehicle to not only entertain children & parents but also help give access to a more balanced view of living & looking after the biodiversity of our oceans, rain forests and Indigenous cultures.
